Who we are

Steve Buttry

Steve Buttry has more than 20 years of service on Capitol Hill in Nashville as a legislator and an executive staff member.

This former state representative was recognized by the TN Report as a “notable lobbyist to watch” in 2013. The article cites Steve’s connections with both the Governor and the House Speaker.

When he represented Knoxville’s 18th State House District, Buttry served on the Transportation, Consumer and Employee Affairs, and Public Transportation Committees, as well as Secretary of the Republican Caucus.

The Tennessee Network of Community Organizations (TNCO) recognized Buttry as Legislator of the Year in 2004.

Buttry served as special assistant to the commissioner while at the Tennessee Department of Transportation.

Steve’s varied business experience covers the utilities and healthcare sectors as an account executive, project manager and CEO.

Steve is a native Tennessean and received his Bachelor’s degree from East Tennessee State University.


Steve Hill

Steve Hill has invested three decades into public service and government relations in Tennessee. His areas of expertise include education, health, and economic development.

Hill served for 12 years on the Knoxville City & Knox County Board of Education. His tenure saw the consolidation of those two bodies into the current Knox County School System. Hill also served as Chairman of the Board for KCS.

Steve Hill is retired from Mercy Health Partners, a leading provider of medical services to East Tennessee now operating as Tennova. His 17 years as Director of Government Relations, Economic Development and Occupational Health give Steve a vast knowledge of Capitol Hill operations.

When the Tennessee Senate 7th District seat was vacant in 2010, Knox County Commission appointed Steve Hill to serve as interim, replacing Sen. Tim Burchett.

Steve is an alumnus of Tusculum College and supports many philanthropic organizations in East Tennessee through his volunteer service. He and his wife Terry have four adult children. They enjoy boating and their many grandchildren.
